Qualifications & Training

I completed my BSc (Hons) Psychology with Clinical Psychology at the University of Kent and went on to complete my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in 2007. During my training I gained experience in four core areas: adults, older adults, child and family mental health and learning disabilities. In my final year I gained experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults and young people at the world-renowned Tavistock Clinic in London.

Experience

I have spent sixteen years working in NHS mental health services, and now focus on my private practice full time. In my last post I held a Head of Service position in which I was responsible for the operational and strategic management of the service and supervision/management of a team of psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and I have held a Visiting Lecturer post at the University of Hertfordshire. I regularly teach on Clinical Psychology Doctoral courses at local Universities.

My Therapeutic Style

I have expertise in treating a wide spectrum of psychological issues. I have a special interest in helping clients manage anxiety and depression. I use an integrative approach in my work, and draw on cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches.

 

I am committed to open and transparent clinical practice so that my clients can have confidence that I am ethical, professional and that my work is of high quality. I have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, I have professional indemnity insurance and I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
